Volunteer delivering a Peace Meal

Why it matters

More than a meal.

OSF Peace Meal helps seniors improve their nutrition, stay independent and enjoy a better quality of life through meals, fellowship and connection to the services they need.

For many homebound neighbors, the volunteer at the door may be the only visitor they see that day. When you deliver, you're bringing both a nourishing meal and the reminder that someone cares.

How it works

Three simple steps.

Step 1

Fill out a connection card and let us know you'd like to help. We'll reach out with the next open dates.

Step 2

Pick up

Grab the prepared meals from the OSF Peace Meal kitchen. You'll get clear, thorough instructions beforehand.

Step 3

Deliver

Drive your route and bring a hot meal — and a friendly face — to seniors who can't easily get out.

About OSF Peace Meal

OSF HealthCare provides nutritious meals five days a week for seniors age 60 and older in Piatt and surrounding counties. Home delivery is available for those who are homebound due to illness, disability or isolation, and spouses living with a participant are welcome too. A $4 donation per meal is suggested, but no one is turned away.
